Just a note

I really loved this week's Mojo Monday sketch so I decided to play along . I used the image "Victorian Bird Cage" from Meljen's available at Whimsy Stamps.

I have to admit I was never a fan of images with bird cages, but absolutely love this one as the bird is outside the cage, and I think it would be just perfect for a "new home" card, or a "I will miss you" card.

That was just the the type of card I wanted/needed to make, but couldn't find my only "I miss you" stamp and I didn't feel like making my own today. So I just decided to use the "Just a note" stamp because this way I can add my own writing on the inside anyway.

I used papers from Stampin Up. Embellished with some white grosgrain ribbon, a tiny prima flower with sticky pearl and then did some sewing with my janome mini.

A pretty clean and simple card, I think this image is so elegant looking, that this simple sketch is just perfect for it.

Here are a few challenges I combined:
Thanks so much for stopping by, I'll be back tomorrow with my design team card for stamp something, hope you'll check back!

Have a great day!!

A sketch challenge

Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hope you had a nice Easter holiday with your families! My husband had to work on Easter - as he does on most holidays - but at least he got off in the early afternoon! Of course that meant the kids had to wait until then for the easter bunny to arrive and they were not very patient. Poor things thought he skipped our house/backyard LOL. Luckily it didn't rain until late at night!!

Now here we are in the last week of April, I just can't believe it! Only a little over a month left until summer break!!! It's crazy!

Since it's tuesday it means we have a new challenge for you at digital tuesday. It was Natascha's turn to choose something, and she designed a fantastic sketch. I hope you'll play along this week!

Here is my card.

I used the image "Moon" by Sylvia Zet from Spesch Designer Stamps, who are sponsoring us this week. The Design Team was lucky enough to be able to choose one of their images. And since I am a huge fan of Sylvia Zet's Art, I just had to choose one of hers.

And here is a picture of the sketch.

I ended up flipping the sketch, as I always feel like my images have to look onto the card instead of off the card, does that make any sense?? My sentiment is from stampin up. I used some night of navy card stock, with some old patterened paper from my stash. Added a punched border and some ribbon, and then finished it off with punched and layered flowers with brads and did some sewing along the edges.

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges.
That is all for today. Lucky me I got my laptop back yesterday so hopefully I'll be able to do a little more blog hopping this week!

Flowers, buttons, and some sparkle

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you are having some fun things planned for easter. It's supposed to rain here, but I am sure the Easter bunny will find a way to hide some eggs and baskets.

Since it's friday we have a new challenge over at stamp something.

Flowers, buttons and some sparkles.

For my card I used a Sugar Nellie stamp. It has been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil, and then copics for the skin.

Papers are from a new My Minds Eye 6x6 inch paper pack and some bazzil brown card stock. Of course I followed the challenge recipe by embellishing with flowers, a button and some glitter, and I also used some sticky pearls which I colored yellow with a copic.
The sentiment is from the "Party mini letter seals" rubber stamp set from Whimsy Stamps. It's such a great set, lots of circle sentiments in it, and some other small ones that are just perfect to use on a little tag.

I also did some sewing with my janome sew mini, but it is somewhat hidden because I hadn't figured out the sketch when I was working on it. To finish it off did did some distressing along the edges and added more sparkles.

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Our sponsor this week is Sugar Nellie, giving away a fun prize to one lucky randomly chosen winner. I hope you can play along for your chance to win.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you'll have a

Happy and sunny Easter!

Pretty Punches for Digital Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Hope you all had a good start of the week. I am still somewhat sick, not feeling achy anymore, just a very runny nose and a cough. It would be nice if these cold meds would actually do what they are supposed to, tried 2 different types of antihistamines and neither one of them work. I know plain old Benadryl would, but that makes me so sleepy and I really don't have time for that and refuse to take it. Should have just saved the money for more stamping stuff. LOL.

Today's challenge over at digital tuesday was chosen by the lovely Michelle, and she wants to see all those pretty punches.

For my card I used a new digi from Meljen's Designs, which is available at Whimsy Stamps. The stork is my favorite "new baby" image.

And of course I just love Meljen's style, and this one is just adorable!! The sentiment was one of Meljen's freebies a couple of week's ago. It is still available at her blog, you just have to scroll down a bit.

I colored the image with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. Papers are all from stampin up. Several punches were used, all of the Stampin Up (scallop circle, 1 1/2 inch circle, scallop border and photo corner). I embellished with some brads and buttons and a bow.

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Our sponsor this week at digital tuesday is Digital Delights, giving away 3 digis to one lucky winner. I hope you'll get to play along with us!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Bunny and chick

Happy Weekend everyone! Hope it's a good one so far.
I am not feeling so good, started out with a tickle in my throat yesterday which just got worse, and now I am all achy and sore throat from this post nasal drainage. Hate it! I did want to finish this card today though. I was so excited yesterday as Sylvia Zet just released 4 new cuties yesterday which I just had to have and colored this one while I was still feeling sort of ok. Had all of the papers picked out and chose my sketch, so I did manage to put it together this morning.

Here it is.

Isn't this digi just the cutest!!! It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. The papers are all from my stash, they included Stampin up and My Minds eye double sided. Card base and layering was done with basic gray from Stampin up.

I embellished with some ribbon, prima flowers, punched out the butterfly and leaves using Martha Stewart punches, and added some sticky pearls to the flower and butterfly. I did some sewing too, but it didn't turn out too good. And then of course I had to apply some dazzling diamond glitter with a 2-way glue pen. I wish stickles glitter wouldn't make my digistamp ink run.

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
That's all for today. I am going to have some soup now and then just do nothing for the rest of the day (like that's going to happen LOL).

Shower Somethings

It's Friday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Something!

~Shower somethings~

is what we got for you this week, perfect for April!

Our fabulous sponsor is Whiff of Joy, and one lucky randomly chosen winner will receive a fun prize from them.
Of course I had to use my "Willow with umbrella" stamp from Whiff of Joy since it's just perfect for the challenge!

Here is my card.

I used derwent coloursoft pencils with baby oil for coloring, and also a couple of copics for the skin tones. My papers are from bo bunny. They were freebies that came with a UK paper crafting magazine sometimes last year.

I did some tearing and distressing, and sponged the white edges. Made the flowers with Martha Stewart hydrangea punches and added the leaves also made with a Martha Stewart punch. The flower centers are sticky pearls. To finish it off I added some stickles glitter, but it's hardly visible on the picture.

I'd like to enter this card to the following challenges:
Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
Hope you'll have a great weekend!

DTC #106 - Little Women

Happy Tuesday!!
We have a new challenge over at digital tuesday! It's Maria's turn to host the challenge, and she chose the theme:

Little Women

Simply make a card or other project using a female picture. Just be sure to include something digital on your project, it doesn't have to be the main image.

For my card I used an image from Mo Manning. Absolutely love this one!! I colored it with derwent coloursoft and baby oil, and copics for the skin tones.

My color combo was inspired by this gorgeous card by Crissy Armstrong.
No designer papers on this card. I used a flourish stamp with white craft ink on 3 of the corners. Embellished with some prima flowers and brads, and added some grosgrain ribbon. I used my sewing machine along the edges and the black paper strip.

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Stamptacular (girls and swirls)
Paper Sundaes (childhood memories)
Mo's digital challenge (how does your garden grow)

This week Digital Tuesday is being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish. Hope you get a chance to play along for a chance at a fantastic prize from the sponsor!

That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by my bog!

Have a GREAT day!

Sassy Circles

Ahhh, it's Friday already! This week has flown by so fast...still no laptop, but I am getting used to it. Might be a good thing as I actually got some more cleaning done and am not constantly getting distracted by my laptop!

We have a new challenge for you at stamp something,

Sassy Circles.

You can create anything with "sass" or circles or both.

For my card I used a stamp from Instyle Stamps. A couple of years ago I was the lucky winner of this rubber stamp. I think I have only used this stamp once and since it's so perfect for this challenge I just had to get it out!

It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and copics for the skin tones. Papers are from DCWV and bazzil.

I embellished with some prima flowers with brads, punched out the leaves with my new Martha Stewart leaves punch, and added some ribbon. I used some stickles glitter here and there and stamped the dots (itty bitty backgrounds-SU) around the image and card front.

I combined this with a few other challenges:
I hope you get to join us this week. The challenge is being sponsored by Kenny K rubber stamps, which means an amazing sassy prize is up for grabs!!!

Have a great weekend!!

Hop along bunny

It's Thursday and that means new release day over at Meljen's Designs! I am one of the lucky Whimsy Stamps Designers so I get to play with some of the new Meljen's digis too! And since they are so adorable I just had to play along today in Meljen's challenge which is "Easter".

For my card I used "Hop along bunny". I used my derwent coloursoft pencils for coloring with some baby oil for blending.

I just bought the martha stewart grass border punch last week and I thought it would be perfect to use for this. Embellished with some striped ribbon from my stash, some layered prima flowers with brad and then applied some glitter to the flowers. My designer paper is also new to me, just picked up a couple of sheets from my local stamping store. I followed the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

There are some other Easter challenges going on so I'd like to enter my card to the following: AI factory, Craft us Crazy.
Then For Fun Challenges wants to see bunnies.
More Easter at Simon Says stamps, and also Easter at Everybody Art.
Papertake weekly's challenge is anything goes with the option of something new (new image, paper and border punch for my card).

That should be about it. I have another card ready to go for tomorrow for the new Stamp Something Challenge. Hope you'll check back.

Oh, and just wanted to remind you about this month's Penny Black at All sorts challenge with the theme of black and white plus one. If you have any PB stamps then I'd love for you to join. There are lots of prizes up for grabs!!

Have a great day!!

Easter Parade for digital tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope your having a good week so far!

Mine started out with a broken Laptop, it might got hit by lightning, it won't even read the recovery CD so I won't be having a laptop for a while. Hate using the desktop as it is upstairs and it's sooooo slow. Not to mention I had to go relocate the images that I purchased last couple of months because I hadn't moved them to my USB stick yet. The ones I remembered I was able to save again through my email or the store where I got them from, but I am sure there are a few that I don't remember buying :-(

But enough of my whining,

as it is time for a new challenge over at digital tuesday. It was Lorraine's turn to host and she chose

Easter Parade

as our theme! I hope you get to play along for a chance at a fantastic prize from our sponsor "Pixie Dust Studio".

I really wanted to use this cute image by Phindy's Place, I don't think I have ever used it! I also really wanted to use the gorgeous meadow background which was recently released from Whimsy Stamps by Crissy Armstrong. Since I have yet to learn how to merge images (and since I don't know if these 2 companies allow actual merging with other companies) I just cut the bunny image out and glued it onto the background.

I used my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil for coloring/blending. I actually started out with this week's sketch saturday but it looks nothing like it anymore so I won't be entering my card there. The piece of designer paper is from a DCWV stack, and the blue is bazzil. I embellished with prima flowers, punched out butterflies, sticky pearls and buttons and of course glitter. Decided it needed something else, so I did some paper piercing.

I'd also love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Bee crafty (easter)
Catch the bug (anything goes)
Little Claire's (spring or spring colors)
Aly's Sunday Challenge (bunnies)
Creative Cowgirls (spring or easter)

That's all from me for today. Hope you liked the card.

Have a great day!

For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice) by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site. Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.

If you have landed here from Debbie's blog, you are right on track. If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Crissy's blog. She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.

The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you! Crissy's Crew from Sundays With Crissy and Denise's Design Team from Whimsy Stamps have joined forces to design some amazing creations for you. You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations.

The hop runs from now through Sunday April 10 at noon. There will be several opportunities to win blog candy! Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set. So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi!

Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize!

To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from my side bar or from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Crissy's post so we can be sure to find the winner.

Now on to my project:

I have used Crissy Armstrong's Heartfelt Angel in my project today. The image has been colored with derwent coloursoft and some copics for the skin tones. Papers are from a new 6x6 paper pack from My Minds Eye. I applied dazzling diamonds glitter to the angel's wings, the trims on her dress and the flowers. All edges were distressed and I used my sewing machine for some stitching. Flowers were punched with a SU punch and layered, then I used sticky pearls for flower centers. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Would love to enter my card to these challenges:
Catch the bug (anything goes)
Shannon's sentiments (use an oval)
By the cute and girly (cute and girly)
Fashionista Friday (sewing)

Whimsy Stamps Digi Release April Blog Hop

I am back again with my last post for the day!

Since today is the first of the month, we are having our Whimsy Stamps digital release blog hop!

If you arrived here from Linda's blog you are in the right place, if not, you will want to go to the beginning which is Dawn's blog to start so you don't miss any of the amazing projects!

Don't forget to leave comments along the way as there are going to be 2 mystery blogs that will draw a random winner from all of the comments left, and they get to choose one of the digis. Then at the end of the hop there will be one grand prize winner who will get to choose 5 newly released digis and will also have the chance to showcase them on her/his blog during the month of April as a Guest Designer. How exciting is that!!!

Since easter will be here before we know it and I need a few more easter cards, I decided to use this adorable bunny with flowers image by Crissy Armstrong. Love love love it!!

It can be found here along with all the other cuties just released today! (Plus many many others too!) I hope you find some time to go check them out, Crissy has released so many cuties again, including a meadow background that is just gorgeous!!
Here are the other cute digis just released!

*NEW Bunny with Flowers*NEW Hello World!*NEW Lilly Filly*NEW New Chickie*NEW Newborn Joon*NEW Sweet Babies

I used my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil for coloring.
Funny thing, while I used a gray colored pencil for some shading on the bunny, my daughter said, "but mom, the easter bunny is supposed to be white, I saw him last year at the mall". Then my son got into the discussion, saying "no, he is brown, I saw it on the preview of the new easter bunny movie", so I had the kids arguing what color the easter bunny is until I decided to tell them that there is probably more than one easter bunny LOL.
Seriously, why can't the media/hollywood agree on what color the easter bunny is??

My papers are from a DCWV stack. Embellished with some ribbon, prima flowers, sizzix leaves and sticky pearls. Then I added some glitter to the flowers. The sentiment is from an old SU easter stamp set.

Here is the list of challenges I'd like to enter this to:

Your next stop on this hop is

Jackie's blog.

If you get lost along the way you can always go to the Whimsy Inspirations Blog for the comlete hop order.

Don't forget to leave comments for a chance at a digital stamp from two mystery blogs. You have one whole week to hop along!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!
Hope you'll have a great weekend and

have fun hopping!!

I got to choose an image from Meljen's Designs for this months' digi week and decided to get the easter bunny image. It can be purchased at Whimsy Stamps in the Meljen's corner.

I used my derwent coloursoft pencils for coloring. Papers are from Neenah (white), stampin up (gray) and bazzill (pink). I embellished with some prima flowers and sticky pearls, some ribbon and glitter, and I used a martha stewart punch for the border and a Martha stewart flower punch for the "leaves" that are behind the flowers. The sentiment was computer generated.

I'd also like to enter my card to the following challenges:
That is all for this post, one more to go, hope you'll check back, because it's going to be a blog hop for Whimsy's new release digis!!
