DTC #74 - Make a gift set

Happy Tuesday everyone!!Hope you're having a great week so far.

Tuesday means it's time for another fun challenge at the digital tuesday challenge blog. Our theme this week, chosen by the lovely Anneke, is

Make a gift set

It is all up to you what you create, it could be a big set or it could be a small set, anything that could be given as a gift.I always struggle with anything that is not a card, so this surely was challenging for me.

I decided to make a notebook with a legal pad, a bookmark and decorate an ink pen too. Of course I had to make a card to match everything.
Below is a group photo of everything.

Since it's kind of hard to see it all, I decided to take some more pictures of each item.

First I am showing you the card, I made it to match the notebook using same papers and sketch.

Below is the notebook.

And this is the bookmark, you can also see the legal pad inside with the decorated top.
I used different meljen's digi here because I thought it would be better for a bookmark than the mouse holding a pencil. The quote by Dr. Seuss was computer generated.

For my items I used Meljen's digistamps (which btw. are 25% off right now along with the other whimsy stamps but today 8/31 is the last day to get them at a discount), I just love this cute mouse whether he is reading, holding a pencils or whatever else he might be up to!

All of the images have been printed on couture 80lb card stock and colored using derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil.

Papers are all from stampin up, designer paper is retired SU. The dark pink flowers are from a simply scrappin' kit that I didn't think I was ever going to use as I don't scrapbook anymore. Ribbon is from Martha Stewart (found it in the clearance isle at michaels a long time ago). The complete list of items used is below.

My giftset fits a few other challenges too:
I hope you find some time to play in this week's challenge, I know it is more time consuming, but christmas is just a few months away and this is your chance to start making those gifts.

We also have another fantastic brand new sponsor this week, Fairy Knoll offering a great prize to one lucky winner. Be sure to check out their store!!
That is all from me for today. Hope you liked my projects, and be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team girls, everyone did a fantastic job again this week!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Miniature Easel Card

Happy Friday everyone and thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog.

I had some time to play so I decided to to the challenge at All Sorts, which is "Miniature 3"".
I decided to do another easel card, my second one. I am really liking this card style. Here is the link to the tutorial I used, I just changed my card stock to 3" x 6".

My cute image is from a free clear set by Adam Pescott that was included in one of the UK paper crafting magazines that I purchased here in the US from Joann's. I haven't used the images yet, and this was my chance to get them out. So so cute!!

It's been stamped with memento tuxedo black ink on couture 80lb card stock. Then colored with my derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil. I used a circle nestabilities shape to cut it out, sponged the edges with apricot ink and then adhered it to a scallop circle nesties shape. It was then popped up to the card front with some dimensionals.

The card front was made using Martha Stewart's around the page punches (layered arches), and some retired stampin up designer paper. To make the punched square fit my 3x3 inch paper I cut it out at 3 1/4 then punched all around. It was a perfect fit.

I've embellished with some apricot ribbon, sticky tiny pearls, brads and of course some stickles glitter. I have left the sentiment off because I am not sure what or who I will use this card for, but it would make a great card to include with a gift or maybe just a cute tiny note card.I am also entering this card to a couple of other challenges:
That is all for today, I am off to do some fun design team work.
Hope you'll have a fantastic weekend!!

DTC # 73 - Cool it with some water

Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another digital tuesday challenge.
Amy is our hostess this week and since we are in the midst of summer she'd like to see some kind of water scene/image on our projects.

For my card I used the digistamp set from Fred She Said "Emma the Mermaid". I got it a long time ago but have only used it once I think. Isn't that mermaid the cutest ever? The seahorse little fish and starfish are from the same set.

I've colored the images using my derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. My papers are from stampin up and K&company. The sentiment was computer generated. I embellished with some ribbon, a flourish diecut, stickles glitter (on the seahorse, mermaid, stars and designer paper but it's kind of hard to see on same parts).

I am also entering my card to this week's
Hope you get a chance to join us this week, we have a fantastic new sponsor, Deedee's Digis. The prize is going to be a $10 store credit to shop at Deedee's. How fun is that!!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

P.S: I had to turn on comment moderation because I received a few too many anonymous spam comments the last couple of days, just thought I'd let you know in case you are wondering where your comment went.

Penny Black saturday - a sketch challenge

Hi everyone and thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I loved the sketch at the Penny Black challenge this week so I decided to play along. I really need to get started with more christmas cards so I don't have to rush at christmas time.

I decided to use "Snowy", a Penny Black stamp my husband bought me about a year and a half ago. (Yes he is the best!!)
I stamped it with memento tuxedo black ink on couture white cardstock 80lb. Then used my copics for coloring. I decided to just do some polka dots on the scarf and hat instead of coloring it all in. I thought the designer paper would be great for use with a distressed look, so I sponged all edges with creamy caramel ink and did some distressing.

The papers are from Bo Bunny, I just picked them up at my last trip to the stamping store. I embellished with some buttons and linen thread, punched out snowflakes (Martha Stewart punch), ribbon, sticky rhinestones and of course glitter. I used frosted lace and star dust stickles. To make it complete I decided to do some machine stitching with my janome mini. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I am also entering this card (my second) to this month's challenge at Penny Black @ All sorts with the theme of glitter and glitz. They are looking for a couple of Designers to add to their team and that is a spot I couldn't resist applying for. I just LOVE Penny Black stamps.

That is all for today. Hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Have a great day!
Ellie.

Penny Black @ All Sorts Challenge

Hello and happy thursday!! Hope you are enjoying your day wherever you are.
It's beautiful here plus I got to make this card last night, and I am so excited to share it today!

I don't normally apply for Design Teams, but this time I just had to because Penny Black is my all time favorite Stamp Company. Ever since I first saw them I was hooked! Penny Black at All Sorts Challenge blog is looking to add one or two designers to their team. I would sooooo love to be on the team!! Here are the details on how to apply.

The theme this month at PB@All sorts is Glitter and Glitz. One of my favorite things to use!

I decided to use the stamp"Watelily skiing". It's been stamped with memento tuxedo black ink on couture 80lb card stock. I colored it with my derwent coloursoft pencils and used blending stumps and baby oil for blending. The butterfly was parcially popped up with a dimensional for a 3D look, but it is hard to tell in the picture.

I used some pretty papers from stampin up. To make is all sparkly and glittery I added stickles glitter to all of the white flowers on the designer paper. I also added stickles to the small pink punched out flowers as well as the water lily and butterfly.

Embellished with some primas, tiny paper flowers, sticky pearls, ribbon and flourishes. Then I did some sewing with my Janome Mini to finish it all off. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I am really happy how this card turned out, hopefully the ladies at PB at All Sorts like it too. Wish me luck!!

My card fits a few other challenges too:
That's all from me for today. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.

Have a great day!

DTC #72 - Use your scraps

Hi everyone and happy tuesday!

Hope you've had a great start of the week, our's started with back to school for my son. I can't believe he is already in second grade!!! Where does time go!?
We've had such a busy week last week, going on a mini vacation before the end of summer break and then had to get a couple more things for school...I really thought I was going to have to miss this week's challenge. Glad I found some time for it!

Our challenge this week, chosen by the fabulous Shelly, is

USE YOUR SCRAPS.

I know you all have lots of bits an pieces laying around so this is your time to use them! Hope you'll all play along this week!

I've actually decided to make two cards for the challenge because I waited till the last minute and wasn't too sure if I liked the first one, so I decided to make a second one. I believe I have a case of lost Mojo...

Here's one card I made using the super adorable Monkey Fun Set by Primsy Doodle Designs, from our generous repeat sponsor My Grafico. I just love that big smile! It's been printed on some couture 80lb cards stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

I've used only card stock scraps on this, no designer papers or ribbon scraps (not that I don't have any, I just couldn't decide which ones to use so I decided to make a "scene" instead.
I tore some sahara sand card stock for a sandy look ( at least that was my intension LOL), then added a little bit of stickles glitter to the torn edge and some to the sun and coconuts. To finish it off I did a little bit of paper piercing.

I am also entering this to a couple of other challenges:

Here's the other card I made. This one uses a brand new image (new to me) from Sassy Cheryl.

It's been printed on couture 80lb CS and colored using derwent coloursoft and baby oil.
My paper scraps are from stampin up and I believe the other Designer Paper is from a short stack from DCWV. Sentiment is from stampin up. I added some stickles glitter, ribbon from my never emptying ribbon scraps jar and then I did some sewing with my janome mini.

This card fits a couple of challenges too:

Hope you liked the cards and be sure to check out the rest of the DT's work, they all did an amazing job this week again.

Hopefully you'll get to play along this week. My Grafico is giving away one set of winner's choice PLUS 30% off one order. How fun is that!!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

ETA: Lora from Lora's cards has several cute stamps, christmas sentiments and alphabet stamps for sale on her blog. They are all marked about half prize what the sticker says. Check out these links below to take a peek.

DTC #71 Butterflies and/or Lace

Hi everyone and happy tuesday!

We have another fun challenge this week at digital tuesday, and our hostess this week is the super talented Sandy! We actually have two challenges for you this week,

Butterflies and/or Lace

You may use one or the other or combine them if you like to.
I have decided to combine mine, I think butterflies go so well with lace.

My image is one that my husband drew, it's available for purchase at my etsy store "Digital Stamp Oasis". I have just added the 5 for 5 deal again, so you can get 5 digis of your choice for $1 each!

I've colored it using derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

My designer paper is a retired doublesided one from Stampin Up. I stamped a flourish stamp in old olive on two of the corners to add some extra interest. Card stocks are from stampin up (pumpin pie), bazzill (green), and couture white 80lb (white).

I've embellished with some punched out butterflies (Martha Stewart), stickles glitter, sticky pearls, ribbon and lace. Then did some sewing with my janome sew mini.

Loved the sketch from Friday Sketchers, so I decided to use it.
My card also fits a few other challenges:
Alright then, that should be all. Hope you'll all join the fun this week. I am also the sponsor this week, and the winner gets to choose 3 images from Digital Stamp Oasis.

Have a great day,
Ellie .

Digital Tuesday Challenge #70

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for another fun challenge at the DT challenge blog. Michelle is our hostess this week and she has chosen a super fun challenge this week, hope you'll all give it a try.

Use digistamps from 2 different companies on one card.

WARNING: If you plan on merging two companies, be sure to check the store's policies as some companies do not allow merging with other companies. But you can always just cut out the second digi and adhere it to your card, as I have done.

On my card I used digis from MelJen's designs (fence in background) and from Mo Manning (girl with dog). I've colored them using my derwent coloursoft pencils with baby oil and copic E00 and blush for the girl's skin.

The girl with dog were cut out and then adhered with some dimensionals for a bit of a 3D look. Sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. I've embellished with some punched out flowers and branch punch, a little bit of glitter and some brads. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers from a couple of weeks ago. Papers are from Stampin up,white card stock is couture 80lb.

Hope you liked my Design Team card for this challenge. I had so much fun with it!

If you are up for a challenge, why not join us this week. We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with and what digis you choose to use! As always, we have a great sponsor, this week Dustin Pike is back again and he is offering 3 digistamps to one lucky winner! And if you are familiar with his work, you know how cute his digis are, if not - you have to go check out
his store!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Penny Black Challenge - a recipe

Hi everyone!

Here's a card I made last night after the kids went to bed. Well, I colored the image while they were playing outside and finished the card at night. I really wanted to use this Penny Black stamp so I decided to check out this week's Penny Black challenge. It's a recipe, use 1 circle, 2 designer papers and 3 flowers.

Image was stamped on couture 80lb cards stock, I colored it using derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil. The hedgies face was colored using copic E00. I sponged the edges using soft sky ink.

Papers are from my stash, I used basic gray (stampin up) as my card base. The 3 flowers and border were done using Martha Stewart punches, Ribbon is from stampin up (retired wild wasabi), added some glitter to the flowers and rhinestones to the flower centers. My sentiment is from a old retired stampin up set (cute converse).

My sketch was inspired by this week's "sweet stop sketch". I did end up adding the sentiment to the other side to fit my image better, and adhered my main image at an angle. Everything else is pretty much the same though.

My challenge also fits a few other challenges:
Hope you liked today's card. I'll be back again on tuesday with my digital tuesday design team card.
Have a great day.
