Scrap it --- DTC #52

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Hope everyone is doing great and is enjoying some nice spring weather.

Below is the card I made for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge with the theme, chosen by Shelly, " Scrap it". I surely have more than scraps and really trying to use some of them every time I make a card.

For this card I decided to go with just one scrap piece though, and it was already cut out too.
My image is a freebie from Paper Garden Projects. I love these snowdrops, they remind me of my childhood because they were everywhere where I grew up in Europe. When I moved to the US I had to buy some snowdrop bulbs off ebay because I couldn't find them anywhere, so now every spring I have a few snowdrops (not enough!!!) in my backyard. They just make me happy!

I went with a simple card because I really wanted the image to stand out. I did apply some stickles glitter to the blooms. Embellished with some white grosgrain ribbon and paper piercing.
The sketch is from Friday Sketchers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you enjoyed the card and hope you will join us at the DTC. All you have to do is make a card using your scraps and something digital and you'll be entered for a chance to win some images from our sponsor Dustin Pike.

Have a GREAT day!!

Blooms and Butterflies

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great start of the week!

I had the chance to visit my local stamping store the other day ( it's actually an hour drive away but close enough to be called local) and purchased this gorgeous stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps. I know I usually just buy cute and that store surely has lots and lots of cute stamps in stock, but after seeing the gorgeous samples they had in the store made with these stamps I just couldn't resist! I loved how they had the butterflies popped out so I had to give it a try.

I colored it with copic markers. The brown butterfly was heat embossed with chocolate chip ink and clear embossing powder. I embellished with some stickles glitter and ribbon.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Check back on tuesday for another flowery card for the digital tuesday challenge!

Just Coffee please... and stamps and ribbon and paper

Hi! My name is Jennifer Scull, and I am a 45 year old papercraft addict! :) But really, I have been doing papercrafts for about 10 years. I started as a scrapbooker, but went to that ONE stamping party like many of us and haven't stopped making cards since! grins! I really really love the vintage/shabby style, but tend to throw in that touch of whimsy when I get the chance. You never quite know what might pop up on something I make! :) I have to have my ribbons and trims, well, and the buttons and primas, goodness, pretty much just embellies in general! giggles!
My family is truly quite supportive of my habit. I have been married for 23 years to my college sweetheart and have 3 teenage boys. We live in northeast Ohio in a quaint little village right in the heart of maple syrup country and the snowbelt. My house is a comfy century home complete with a barn full of cats and 2 big labradors. We truly couldn't be happier!"

DTC #51 --- Happy Spring

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope everyone is having a great start of spring. It actually snowed here most of the first day of spring and I had the chance to make another snowman on sunday with my daughter. But now it is all melted again and spring is definitely here!

Our theme this week at digital tuesday, chosen by Paula is "Happy spring". We also have a brand new sponsor, stitchy stamps. They generously let us design team members choose an image or a set to use. I went with the image "splash". I thought it would be perfect for our theme.

The coat, boots and umbrella were paper pieced. I added flowers to match the designer papers and then turquoise brads as flower centers. Did some machine stitching and applied glassy glaze to the umbrella and puddle. There's also some glitter on the smaller flowers, but it's not showing on the picture.
My sketch is from Friday Sketchers.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you'll get a chance to play our challenge this week for a chance to win some goodies from Stitchy Stamps.

Recipe:
Stamps: digi (stitchy stamps), warm words (SU)
Paper: Stampin Up (some retired)
Ink: HP inkjet, choc. chip, soft sky, copics
Accessories: flowers, brads, ribbon, stickles glitter, glassy glaze
Tools: label 8 nestabilities die, martha stewart flower punch, SU spring bouquet punch (retired), big kick, sewing machine

Designer Spotlight - Fonda D.

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to another "Designer spotlight".

***********************************************

Please meet

Fonda D.

from

Southern Scraps

"My name is Fonda and I live on the coast in South Georgia. I've dabbled in crafts since I was a child. I loved to make gifts for everyone. Sometime between 2001 and 2003, I took an interest in paper crafting. The internet opened a whole new world of inspiration for me. Hubby (who was my boyfriend then) bought me a paper trimmer and some supplies and well, he's still buying them and fueling this addiction. At least he knew before he married me, lol.

I've explored paper crafting with the computer and templates, scrapbooking, and stamping. I've come back to mostly stamping (traditional and digi) and cardmaking, although I still scrapbook some. I continue to grow and learn new techniques all the time. I work a full time job, so I don't get to "play" as much as I'd like, but I fit it in when I can."

Below is a sampling of some of Fonda's supercute creations using images by the Digital Stamp Oasis.

Such a fun card using the image

Let's Celebrate

This is my second post for today, (I know a very rare thing), so be sure to scroll down to see my other card that I am very happy how it turned out!

I am so excited I got to make this card today, because I really wanted to enter it to Karen's Doodle's challenge and the deadline is tomorrow.
Isn't this image adorable??!! I saw a card with it on Anne-Marije's blog and just had to buy it!

I colored with copic markers and added some highlights using a prismacolor white pencil.
The designer papers are from stampin up. It's retired some years ago, but this is one of my favorite color combos and I just love the papers.

The sentiment was computer generated. I embellished with some flowers and leaves, ribbon, glitter and flatback pearls.

Like I said I made this card for Karen's Doodle's first challenge (UK)
I am also entering the card to the Critter challenge with the theme of flowers and the Color Throwdown challenge .

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Have a great day!

I absolutely love this image by Pollycraft. Had to have it the minute I saw it!

Digital Stamp Oasis sponsoring Totally Papercrafts

Happy Friday everyone!!
I am so excited to show you this card today. It's made using one of the 3 new digis available at the DSO etsy store. I just love this image drawn by my husband.

I am also very excited to tell you that Digital Stamp Oasis is sponsoring this week's challenge at the Totally Paper Crafts Challenge blog. They just started this year and they always have a great challenge scheduled! This week's challenge is "Things with wings". Of course I couldn't resist using this cute image.

I colored it with copic markers and applied some stickles glitter to the wings. Papers are all from SU (basic gray, white and designer paper which is retired).
I embellished with some prima flowers, brad, ribbon and punch outs using the Martha Stewart branch punch.
The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. I used my small oval punch (SU) for it and matted it on a same sized oval in basic gray card stock.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you liked my card and if you're up for a challenge why not check out "totally papercrafts".
Hope you all have a fantastic day and a even more fantastic weekend!!

Happy Hedgie for you - DTC#49

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you're having a good week so far and warmer weather too! The snow has been finally melting here, still a few patches here and there, but it is definitely going away.

Today the theme over at the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog, chosen by Michelle is

"Paper Piercing"

I love the look of paper piercing! So this was fun as I haven't done it for some time now.

My image is a brand new one from Digital Stamp Oasis. I just released 3 brand new images, one is this "Happy Hedgie", there's also "costume kids - bunny" and "costume kids - bee". I think they are so cute and perfect for spring themed cards.

Image was colored with copic markers. I sponged with bashful blue ink around the edges to soften it a little. I embellished with some flowers, leaves, buttons, ribbon, and pearls and did some paper piercing. The designer papers are from my stash, I have no clue who the maker is. Other papers are Stampin Up's bashful blue, basic gray and GP white.

In addition to the Digital Tuesday Challenge my card also fits the following challenges

Friday Sketchers - sketch
saturday spotlight - friendship
dare U 2 digistamp - pearls
PaperPlay challenges - just because
cupcake craft challenge - flower power
stamp with fun - spring

I am getting really good at combining challenges thanks to the Daily Dare blog!!

Thanks so much for visiting me today. If you're up for a paper piercing challenge why not join us at digital tuesday for a chance to win some images from the Digital Stamp Oasis? We'd love it if you join us!

Hopping Happy!!

Happy Friday everyone!

I actually managed to get a card done tonight. I just bought this cute image from Mo Manning yesterday and then decided to play the Digital Pencil Too challenge today. It's a color challenge to use blue and brown and one neutral color. Blues and browns is definitely one of my favorite color combos so I couldn't resist.

After I printed the image I immediately sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and heat embossed the image. Then I used my copic markers for coloring.
I stamped a flourish all around the edges and then sponged and distressed the edges. The designer paper is from my stash. I also stamped the flourish on two corners of the designer paper to make it a little more interesting. The sentiment is from a Stampin Up (retired) set. I embellished with some punched out flowers, flatback pearls, stickles glitter, ribbon and sewing.
This card with this cute girly image also fits the "girly challenge" at Stamp Something.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, hope you liked the card. The complete recipe is below.

Recipe
Stamps: digi by Mo Manning , stampin up (sentiment), paper inspirations (flourish)
Paper: chocolate chip, white, polka dot designer paper
Ink: HP inkjet, choc. chip, copics for coloring
Accessories: flatback pearls, ribbon, stickles,

DTC 48 --- scallops

Happy Tuesday everyone! Wow, this has been such a busy day (week-actually) I just now thought about posting my card for the digital tuesday challenge. So I'll make it short as I still have such a busy day ahead of me.

Maria is our hostess this week and she wants to see scallops on our projects this week. Our sponsor is my grafico and they generously let the design team members choose between 2 sets. I went with zoom vroom. It is so cute and there several cute images in this set.

I colored it using my copic markers. The card is kept pretty simple too and was very much inspired by a card I saw in the stampin up catalog. Embellished with some ribbon and did have to add just a little bit of glitter to the "steam" and the wagons. Sentiment is from a old retired Stampin Up set. The "steam" was made with a retired SU stamp.

My card also fits these two challenges, so I am entering them there too.

ABC challenge - one paper
Cute Card Thursday - ribbon-tastic

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, hope you'll join us at digital tuesday for a chance to win a set from my grafico.
