A precious moment birthday

Hello and happy wednesday!
Hope you are all having a wonderful day! Mine has been pretty good so far! I got to finish this cute card! I just love precious moments. I actually used to collect the figurines but stopped at some point when I discovered stamping. LOL.
The image was colored using my prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil, along with some copic markers. I added stickles glitter to the party hat and hair bow as well as the candles. (This is how my DH cake looked like when he blew out his candles - yes, I made him blow out 30something candles :)
The designer papers and main card stock is from Stampin Up. I also added stickles glitter to the blue mats. Other embellishments added are felt and paper flowers with brads, ribbon and dimensionals. Again, I felt like using my sewing machine. I am starting to like that look. The sentiment is from Penny Black's Critter Party clear set. The sketch was inspired by today's sketch challenge on SCS.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a great day with some creating in it!

Editing to add: Whimsy stamps is having their first ever Whimsy Virtual Stamp Night on the Paper Craft Planet, with challenges, and chances to win some of their adorable stamps!! Go check it out! I hope to find some time later to do some challenges.

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone!!

I am so glad I found some time today to make a card! I can't believe I haven't used this stamp yet since I started blogging-it is my favorite and first penny black stamp that I purchased!
Image was colored with copics and prisma markers. The designer paper is from K&Company Classic K Bailey series.Embellishments added are paper flowers with brads, SU's olive grosgrain ribbon, a Hodgepodge Hardware clip and stickles glitter. I got my sewing machine back out and did some stitching along the edge. The main image was adhered with dimensionals. The sentiment "from the heart" is from SU's retired Set "vases in vogue".

Friday Sketchers: for you with love

Hello and happy Sunday! Hope everyone has a great day!

My day went pretty good so far, I got some stamping done too!
I decided to do the Friday Sketchers Challenge I really liked the sketch. I used the stamp Whimsy Turtle by Whimsy Stamps. He is too cute and so much fun to color.

Did you know Whimsy Stamps is having a Guest Designer call?? You still have a little bit of time to enter for a change to be the February Guest Designer but only until Monday the26th 11:59PM EST. Check out this post on Denise's Blog for more info.

Since my last card was sort of "vintage" I wanted to use bright colors this time. It turned out pretty "Springy" but I am so ready for spring (it snowed all morning here today!!) . I will add "Happy Spring " to the inside.
Embellishments added are striped ribbon and silver cord, paper flowers with pearl centers and silver brads. Oh, and I also used my sewing machine again. to sew along the edges.

Stamps: Whimsy Turtle (Whimsy stamps), Riveting, Looks like spring (both su)
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirhouette, bashful prints (all SU), DCWV Designer paper, GP110lb white

Everybody Art Challenge # 23 Sweet and Sassy

Hello and Happy Friday!!
Today's card I made for Everybody Art Challenge # 23 The theme this week was shabby. While I don't make a lot of shabby cards ( I usually prefer clean designs) I do love the look of vintage cards.
Now to my card. I used the cracked glass technique on the main image. You can find the tutorial here if you would like to try it. I had to use regular clear embossing powder since I don't have any UTEE so my cracked glass didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to.
For this challenge I had to get out my sewing machine from under my stamp desk, it was collecting dust. Please excuse the crooked stitching, but I guess it fits well with the "shabby" challenge. LOL.

Stamps: sweet and sassy stamp (sarah kay), small script (SU)
Paper: chocolate chip (SU), Designer Papers unknown-sorry, white GP110lb
Ink: black, choc. chip, versamark
Accessories: copics and watercolor pencils, paper and fabic flowers, ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, pearls, sewing machine, embossing powder, sponge for distressing ribbon and flowers
Technique: cracked glass, sponging, aging

Have a wonderful day!!

Whiff of Joy Challenge 15 - A Sketch

Hello and Happy Thursday!
I made today's card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge # 15 A sketch by Katharina!
Isn't this image darling? It was actually colored last week for the color challenge green/purple, but never had time to finish the project. The designer papers are from a DCWV short stack.
I changed the circle in the sketch into an oval, it was just more fitting for my image.
Embellishments added are paper flowers with "pearl" centers, the cute polka dotted purple organza ribbon, the verse was punched out with SU's small oval punch and I added some paper piercing along the top edge of the card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Whiff of Joy - willow with cookies, stampin up - cute converse
Paper: Kiwi kiss, lavender lace (both SU), designer paper by DCVW, white GP110lb
Ink: black tuxedo memento
Embellishments and tools: Copic and prisma markers, CM cutting system, paper flowers, pearls, ribbon, SU crafter's tool kit.

Have a wonderful day!!

Birthday somethings Whimsy Turtle

Hello and happy Sunday!!

I just love happy cards! ( I am sure you noticed that if you are one of my regular blog visitors).
Today's card is for this weeks Stamp Something Challenge and the theme is to create a birthday project.
I decided to use this darling turtle by Whimsy Stamps . It just makes me giggle. It is just too perfect for a funny birthday card. I am trying to decide wether to print "to an old friend" or from an old friend on the inside, maybe "You're how old???" So many possibilities, since turtles grow sooooo old! I'm sure I'll find the perfect quote.
The sketch is an older Monday Mojo sketch, I had so much fun with it, that I wanted to use it again.
I don't know who the maker of the watery designer paper is, the green designer paper is from DCWV short stack. As on many of my cards I used black as an accent color and my currently favorite ribbon (black gingham).
Other embellishments are paper flowers made with SU's flower trio punch, stickles, paper piercing and use of SU's large oval punch. Image was colored with Copic and Prisma markers. The card is a 5.5" square, the card base is Wild Wasabi (retired SU).

Thank you for stopping by today!

Barely bashful chocolate Birthday

Sorry about the lack of posts this week, everyone in the family had the stomach virus, I was the last one to get it, and finally starting to feel better.
I haven't made a card for a few days, today's card I actually made for a little girl's 6th birthday at the end of last week, I hope she likes it.
I used my new Sarah Kay stamp and colored with copics and prisma markers. The sentiment is from Penny Black's clear set "Critter Party". The designer paper is from Hobby lobby, I have no clue who makes it though. I pretty much colored the image to match the paper. To finish the card off, I added the flowers (punched out with my flower trio punch) with brads, did some paper piercing along the edges of the main image, and addes stickles to the circles on the designer paper.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful saturday!

Susie Squirrel - 2 cards - one post

Hello and happy Monday!! I have two cards to share with you today.

The first card was actually made for the Sugar Bowl Sketch Challenge . I wanted to participate to win those markers, but you have to use Sugar Nellie stamps and I don't have any. I didn't realize that until my card was done.
The image is "Susie Squirrel in the rain" - if this will ever become a stamp, I think it will be without the rain. lol, then I'll have to rename the image. Lots of dimensionals were used to make it look 3D.
Recipe
Image: Susie Squirrel in the Rain, Stamps: Vases in Vogue -sentiments
Paper: DCWV celery textured, chocolate chip, pink pirroutte, certainly celery CS and prints designer Paper, Polka dots designer paper - source unknown, GP white card stock
Ink: Inkjet HP, chocolate chip
Accessories: copics, flower trio punch, brads, pink rhinestones, ribbon, paper piercing tool, paper clip, small oval punch, stickles.

The second card is made for FS101 challenge over on SCS JayDeKay was the featured Stamper. She has some really cute stuff in her gallery. This is the card I used for inspiration.
The image I used is another Susie Squirrel image "Susie Squirrel's romantic getaway" is what I call it. I asked hubby to draw a venice type image with 2 Squirrels, this is what it turned out to be. Cute, isn't it? I actually made a card with it before but with the image being larger. I made it smaller on my computer, this one appeals more to me.
Recipe:
Image: Susie Squirrel's romantic getaway by RES designs, Stamps: vases in Vogue-verse
Paper: kiwi kiss, basic black, white GP, DCWV short stack Designer Paper.
Ink: HP inkjet, black
Accessories: copics, rectangle scallop nesties, big kick, small hole punch, ribbon, paper and fabric flower, brads, boho blossom punch, stickles

Happy Birthday Whimsy Turtle

I made this card for my Brother-in-Laws Birthday. I don't think it is too girly, what do you think?
Stampin' Meg from Peacock Paperie had such a cute card posted on her blog with this folding technique. I knew I had to try it.
The card base (kiwi Kiss) measures 8.5 x 4.25, scored at 3 inches. The little card base inside measures 6.75x 2.5 scored at 3.25 inches. It looks hard, but is really easy to make.
This cute image is from Whimsy stamps , it was colored using Prismacolor Pencil and blended with baby oil. I sponged some bashful blue on the sky portion of the image and not quite navy on the water portion of the image. The balloons were made by punching 1/2 inch circles and I attached a clear bubble to each one. Embellishments used are a paper clip with teal ribbon,. The sentiment was cut out into a banner and I folded it up and tucked it under the paper clip.

Stamps: Whimsy Turtle, Birthday Whimsy sentiment (by SU),
Paper: Kiwi kiss, taken with teal, Designer Paper (SU), white (georgia Pacific)
Ink: black
Accessories: clear bubbles (joann), half inch circle punch (SU), paper clip, ribbon, prismacolor pencils.

Thanks for looking.

Ink: black
Accessories: copic markers, scallop circle nesties, cuttlebug swiss dots folder, big kick, ribbon, eyelets, stickles, paper and fabric flowers, large oval punch and boho blossom punch (SU), 1 inch circle punch.

Susie Squirrel looking for some shade

This is another card I made with my hubby's image "Susie Squirrel in the rain". On this card I cut her out and adhered her to GP white using dimensionals. I wanted to make a "sunny" card. I drew the grass in the background, should have asked DH to do it, but he was at work when I needed it done.
The large flower was cut out also, and adhered with more dimensionals. I added stickles to the flower center. The barely banana card front was run thru my big kick using a cuttlebug folder. The card base is DVWV textured card stock. The sentinent was punched out using the word window punch and then adhered it to a SU's large oval punch out. Embellishments used are stickles, rhinestones, paper flowers with brads, black gingham ribbon and paper piercing.

I made another card today with the new image DH drew "Susie Squirrel's romantic getaway"
it is in my SCS gallery here if you want to take a peek.

Thanks for stopping by today!

WT200 Hubby's Squirrel

As promised, here is a card I just made for today's Ways to use it challenge on SCS. We are to incorporate stars in our cards. I don't have a star punch, but found this DCVW designer paper with stars on it.

I asked my husband to draw a squirrel image for me. This is his first one.
I am going to call this image "Susie Squirrel in the rain". I love it! Wish I could turn it into a stamp.
For now I had to print it out on GP 110lb card stock, and it can actually be colored with no problems with alcohol markers. I use copics, blick studio and prismas. For the sentiment I punched out SU's large oval and then wrote the sentiment. I attached a flower from SU's flower trio punch to it with a brad and adhered it on another oval using pacific point card stock. For embellishments I added stickles to the flower center, glossy accents to the whole flower and the water puddle. the little flower with brad to the sentiment and did paper piercing around the edges of the white card stock.

Image: Susie Squirrel in the rain (RES designs)
Paper: Pacific point (SU), white (GP110lb), Designer paper (DCVW short stack)
Ink: HP ink jet, black micron pen - for sentiment
Accessories: alcohol markers, stickles, brads, flower trio punch and large oval punch (both SU), paper piercing tool (SU), dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

2 Challenges - 1 card (Penny Black)

I made this card combining two great challenges, Penny Black saturday challenge , and Mojo Monday sketch challenge . For Penny Black Challenge #30 we were to use embossing in our project. I used my new cuttlebug folder (textile texture). The image was colored with Prisma, blick studio and copic markers. I need to get a few more copics, I am not very happy how my flower pot turned out. (Don't have the right colors!) I added a little bit of stickles to the bee's wings and the flower center. I also added stickles to the strip of celery prints designer paper. The sentiment is from vases in vogue (retired SU). I punched it out with SU's small oval punch and adhered it to a basic black small oval. This was adhered to the basic black card front. The card base is certainly celery. To finish the card off, I added the circle which is folded in half, put an eyelet thru and tied a bow using black gingham ribbon. That little pink flower that I found in my stash was just perfect to add next to the sentiment using a gold brad. The image was attached with dimensionals.
This is such a beautiful sketch! I will be using it again soon! Thanks for looking.

FS100 again Hubby's Love birds

I just love JulieHRR's gallery on SCS . Make sure to check it out if you haven't already. She was the featured stamper yesterday, and I couldn't do the challenge just once! This is the card that inspired me to create this card.
I also posted this card in on my SCS gallery, so you might have seen it there. Thank you all for your kind comments on it. It really means a lot to me, since it is my dear husbands art that I used. He is working on a few more pictures for me.
He draws whenever he has some spare time, usually superhero comic stuff . I asked him to draw several images for me, this is the first one to be finished. He had it done in no time at all. I scanned it on my computer and printed it out. And the best thing is, I could use my copic and prisma markers to color the image. I wasn't sure if the computer ink is going to work with them or not.
The edges were sponged with bashful blue ink and adhered to the basic black scallop rectangle (nestabilities).
The strip of designer paper is by SU (bashful prints DP). I applied stickles to the centers of all the little flowers. This was adhered to basic black. The card base is bashful blue. I added some paper piercing to that. The main image was mounted with dimensionals. To finish the card off, I added the 2 flowers with a brad, stamped the sentiment and added some stickles to the leafs, birds and the white flower, and adhered a little bit of grosgrain ribbon to the branch.
Thanks so much for looking.

FS challenge 100 Whimsy Owl

Today on SCS the featured Stamper is JulieHRR. I love her gallery and have always admired her work. I chose this card. And what better stamp to used than my new Whimsy Owl stamp?!
I stamped the owl with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored it with copic markers. I applied pink stickles to the owl's eyelashes. Melissa from mmedesigns did that on one of her owl cards and I just loved that idea! Thanks for the inspiration, Melissa!!
The image was adhered to SU's certainly celery prints designer paper and then mounted to the card base, which is GP white with dimensionals. To finish this card off, I added the ribbon and the felt flower with black, and used my stamp-a-majig to stamp the sentiment.

Stamps: whimsy owl, SU-sentiments (from vases in vogue)
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Paper: GP white 110lb, certainly celery print by SU
Accessories: celery grosgrain ribbon, felt flower, brad - all SU, stickles glitter, dimensionals.

Thanks for looking!

My first Whimsy card for Flower Power Challenge

Do you want to win one of the cute whimsy stamps? Then you MUST check out the Whimsy Group Flower Power Challenge on the Paper Craft Planet!! All you have to do is create a card using flowers, stamp flowers add flowers, or use Designer Paper with flowers... for a chance to win. You don't have to use a Whimsy stamp, but if you have one, it would be great if you used it!

I was lucky enough to be chosen as Whimsy's Guest Designer for January, look what the mailman delivered today! Aren't they cute??

Today I chose to use the turtle. I stamped it on vellum using black stazon and turned it around to have a mirror image. I colored it with my SU markers. The vellum was adhered to a piece of white cardstock with glue dots and matted on basic black. The second turtle was stamped on GP white using tuxedo black ink. I colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out. I added eyelashes to this turtle because I wanted her to be a girl. I added a little silver cord around her neck to mimic a scarf or necklace. This turtle is sitting on a rock that I made using a circle punch, it was adhered with dimensionals. For the card front I used SU's Spring flowers retired designer paper and added a little bit of stickles for some sparkles to it. Also added a strip of retired rose romance cardstock, it matched the little pink flower perfectly. The sentiment was punched out with SU's large oval punch, added a little bit of paper piercing and adhered it to the two black ovals. To finish this card off I added the two hearts (I added polka dots to the hearts but they kind of got lost when I applied stickles to them), brads, a flower on top of lady turtle and some gingham ribbon. Stickles was applied to the flower and the brads. The card front was then adhered to the kiwi kiss card base.

Stamps: Whimsy turtle and silly sayings
Ink: black stazon, memento tuxedo black
Paper: Kiwi kiss, basic black, rose romance, spring flowers Designer Papers (all SU), white (GP), vellum
Accessories: gingham ribbon, brads, crafter's tool kit, SU markers, silver cord, large oval punch (all SU), paper flower (american crafts), stickles, alcohol markers (copic and prisma)

Thanks for coming by today!!

Image was colored with alcohol makers. I paper pierced free handed around the image. Sponged the egdes with soft sky ink. I added white polka dots to the fairy's dress with SU's white gel pen. Stickles was also added to the dress and the brads. The designer paper was already sparkly. Sentiment is from SU, I also sponged the edges of the sentiment using soft sky ink. Thanks for looking. I hope you like this card!
